I need a little guidance here. I see 3" and 2 3/4" and I don't know the difference. Is there?

I'm looking at putting on some Hard Krome pipes (not sure which ones yet). Does anyone have any suggestions? I like the Doubel D Staggered, but the Big Straights are pretty nice, too.

Have looked at some other brands but really like the Hard Kromes...but am definitely open to suggestions/recommendations from your experience with pipes.

When I went looking for aftermarket pipes, I headed over to http://www.cruisercustomizing.com. Not to buy there, but to check out the hundreds of members who posted pictures and reviews of my bike, with the pipes I was favoring. It helped alot. I was actually able to find someone in my area with a Vulcan Classic 1500 with the pipes I wanted, and was able to listen to them. That visit made up my mind for me, and the next day I ordered some Vance & Hines 2:1 HS Pro Pipes.

Just a suggestion. It really helped me.
