air shocks

1026 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  elr658
Was playing around with my front air shocks on my bike,1985 1100 ltd, and found that there is some rust in there. Left seal has been leaking a while so I knew I was gonna have to tear them down. Now I know I have to tear down and REALLY CLEAN them and inspect...

Since air carries moisture what do you guys think about charging with nitrogen or some other inert gas?

Seriously, after a good seal job, install 15wt fork oil and Progressive suspension fork springs. Then FORGET about putting air in them ever again.
You'll thank me later.
