hi all, can some one please tell me what is the best stuff to get alloy back to its original state,just bourght myself a new footrest bracket it is shiney as hell,it looks odd,the right hand side one is new,so i want to try and get the left side to match. thanks alanmac

A good aluminum polish and lots of rubbing. If you're lazy like me, you could get a polishing/buffing wheel to go in a drill and save a lot of sweat and time. I did that at first but found out a buddy has a commercial polishing/buffing machine. :biggrin:

You can get a polish pad that is attached to your drill with the white stone to get the aluminum back to shiny .... They sell them on ebay. I use this all the time.. I normally clean them once a year and put a protective sealant on it at that time. That is all the maintenance you need.
