Okay, I never got an answer to my last question...maybe it wasn't clear. Anyway, now I have another problem. The battery drains with every start. What can I do to correct this problem? I am getting very frustrated with this bike. Thank you for your answers. Marc

I don't know if I told you before, but what I have is a Kawasaki Voyager XII, (1986)

re

mark, if you have'nt already i'd go ahead and put a brand new battery in and see if it still discharges that fast - if so then look for bad ground connections and check the charging system with a violtmeter-it may be that the battery just won't hold a charge anymore if there is a build up on the plates

Marc it sounds to me like you have a short but I got to tell you electical is a mechanics nightmare if it was in our shop it would be very time consuming to run all the tests and check for electrical shorts and doing it over the internet is next to impossible. You may have to take it in to your local dealership for testing. 8)
