I have a 2000 Bayou 220 that is fouling plugs. I'm not sure whether it's fuel or oil.
I'm new to all of this, but I've been ripped off for thousands by unscrupulous mechanics so much, I decided to either fix stuff myself, or haul it to the dump.
I'm going to make an attempt to upload the pic of the plug. It smells like oil to me, but I don't remember it smoking. I pulled the motor out, and I'm looking at the piston, which looks like black tar on the top. The piston sleeve has absolutely no scratches, and I'm not sure, but it looks like it's chromed. The rings look good, and the piston looks great. No grooves or heavy scratches at all. I'm going to order a ring/gasket set and install on the piston, and put it all back together. I don't really know how the valves look, as I haven't pulled them yet. I'm looking for a video on that. I neglected to do a compression test, which I regret, but will check it when piston is put back in.
Any help or advise is to be extremely appreciated and revered.
Thank you
