Im now looking for a wiring diagram to sort things out.
After that im sure ive got a ton of questions left and I hope this forum with specialists can help me resurrect from the dead.

Thanks in advance.

Which wiring chart are you hoping to find? I don't know what my manual has, but a decent shop manual for other stuff. Ended up getting it on ebay for about 18.00 USD delivered. I just bought one for a pickup truck for 20.00 USD at a car shop. That'd be the best bet for diagrams I'm guessing.

BTW, we got the 220 running well again. I think it just didn't like the weather getting colder. It went from 70s to 50s and 40s at night in a matter of a week. We just let it warm up for about 5 minutes before putting any stress on the system. Runs like a champ.

I did get a set of headlights on it too. That's my next area to fix. They 'worked' but not very well. Seems that both lights would work, but only one would light up at a time (switched the connections back and forth). The brights didn't work at all, but I'm not sure it's a wiring or a bulb issue on that one yet. Lucky we're having nice moon lit nights to drive back from the woods in :)

Thanks for all your ideas and help. It's appreciated!

Just to make sure this thread is alive and well...

After lots of atv's over the years, I've regressed to a clean used 2000 Bayou220. Runs great, no issues, everything works. Changed all fluids, filters, etc. Doesn't get run very often, like every 2-4 weeks, so I keep recommended dosage of Stabil in there.

Front tires are almost bald thought. Would love to upgrade those front rims to slightly taller so I have more choices of better ply tires than the orig equip. Anybody know what other brands stock rims/tires would fit straight up?

Attaching lights and adapter...

I have a 2009 Bayou and love the bike. I am trying to add 2 12VDC lights and a cig. lighter adapter (for charging my phone) to my bike. I was wondering if someone could recommend a place to connect to the bike for powering these devices? I would prefer not to plug straight to the battery as the lights might drain it. I would prefer to connect to a wire that only has power when the bike is running. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all, I recently purchased a 1988 220 bayou in need of some TLC. when i bought it the engine was running fine, just the gear selector arm had snapped, and some oil leak due to no gaskets on the casings. I sorted these out, but when i fitted the engine back in place it wont start. checked the cable running to the spark and there is power going through, could the throttle pin be set at the wrong point? it no longer works off the electric start, any information would be a lot of help guys thnx:)
