220's are a great value!
I have a 2002 220, I belive it was the last year of the 220, but anyway, The machine was bought used (low hours)$1200. It runs great, My wife and I are not small people, the machine is slightly over loaded with one of us on it and it just takes it! The only thing I have done to it was a new and larger battery which required a mod to the hold down. Funny thing about this quad is it uses a little oil, like 1oz per hour of use, that doesn't bother me because I realize air cooled engines are not as "tight" as liquid cooled engines. Others I have talked to said this is not uncommon. The exaust has a snappy sound, cool but a little loud, and the centrifugal clutch "rattles" until it is engaged.
Otherwise good bang for the buck! Its top speed is 1 mph faster than my Prarie 360 4x4, about 43 mph. I was thinking of putting a tach on the 220 but I have no idea what max RPM is, also is there a rev limiter or does the small carb hold it back? I'm not using it like a racer, I just don't want to hurt it by over revving it. The engine sounds like its screaming at 35+mph, I normally ride about 30mph on fire/back roads.
