Hi Guys

When I start my 97' Vulcan 500 and give a few revs it feels like its losing power!

It doesn't want to start unless I pull out the choke. When I do pull the choke she runs.

I took her for a spin today and if I am in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear for example and increase the throttle, the bike doesn't pickup speed until 1 to 2 seconds later then the speed kicks in. I think this can be dangerous so I need to know what could be wrong.

Could something be stuck?
Could it be starving for Gas or something?

HELP!!

Well, I read your post about your separator, not even sure what that is because I'm used to oooold bikes, but warm your bike for a few minutes, if I'm in a big hurry and my car is being used by someone else, i'll use small RPM's but for the first minute, once i first take off I get a big kick when I hit around 2500 rpms until it's warmed up.
