I have a 81 kz440 ltd. The fuse that in the circuit with the Rectifier/regulator and battery to the ignition switch blows. The bike can be sitting still, running perfectly, and then the fuse blows. This is a 20 amp fuse. It may run for 5 min or 45 min, there is no exact time lenght before it blows. I have replaced the rectifier and the battery.

Any ideas?

FUSE

Put a multimeter in the circuit and move all the wires and look fo ra short or bare wire...can't find one then take a mist bottle of water and do the same thing...first check all of your grounds thogh and CLEAN them and add some electric grease to all of them. Clean and check the fuse box as well. Look at the switches and wiring up on the handlebars as well and even move them and spray them with water as well...
