OK, Here's an update; I double-checked all of my readings at the vehicle down sensor, which confirmed that the igniter had too much voltage to the vehicle down sensor. This lead me to believe that the igniter was to blame. In messing with things, the starter solenoid stopped working. I traced that problem to a bad ground on the black/yellow wire that grounds the solenoid. I installed a temporary jumper to ground the black/yellow wire and the engine cranks as it should. It also starts and runs!! Yoo-Hoo!!!
So tomorrow after work, I will be locating all of the ground connections and cleaning them up. Just goes to show that the simplest things can really theow you for a loop. Just glad that I didn't buy a new igniter before I found this problem
Thanks to all that helped out and responded.
