From all of the reviews I've read, people stop using them because they feel as though they are going to fall off or slide off the bike. That's enough for me to say just save the money and buy the right seat the first time. If you have a solo seat set on a bobber, etc. and only do occasional 2-up riding, I'm sure it's a decent solution...but not much more than that.
