What is the proper procedure for cleaning carbs?

Correct me......

remove from bike
remove all parts from holes
soak/spray everything in carb cleaner
blow out/off all parts
reassemble....

did I get it right?

Can you just spray or do you have to soak and if you soak is there like a gallon container you can buy?

Thanks,

-Steve

I took mine apart , sprayed with carb cleaner and blew with compressed air. It look like new and worked just fine for me.

you can do it that way if its not all varnished up. if its varnished then ya have to scrub it a bit or pull it COMPLETELY (no rubber etc.) apart and soak it in carb cleaner. you can get a 1 gallon/5 gallon can from NAPA etc. called B12-CHEMTOOL , very good stuff.
