I now own an older bike my father once owned. He apparantly had the gas tank lined after some rust problems, but liner didn't hold up, this was put in years ago. I've decided to try the POR 15 liner, but need to get the old liner cleaned out 100%!! Over the last 3-4 weeks of soaking in acetone and s****ing the inside, I've got 90% of it out. The outside is cherry, so I don't want to do anything drastic. Anyone gone through this ordeal and been able to successfully remove 100% of the old liner?

I've never done a liner removal before....but wondering if you can put a dish rag inside of the tank with acetone....seal the tank....and swish the contents around by hand? Possibly it will scrub off the remaining liner.
