Well my bike has been down for a couple of months now. Luckily I got my other one to ride especially since I'm rebuilding my engine in my car. I started doing some maintenance and almost got it back running when my starter solenoid shorted out. I also changed my tank on it too. Since it was down I decided to clean up all my electronics and side mount my battery. I am so excited because it is a several day job and I haven't had a big project to do in a long time. So here goes.

Cut the seat support off and got rid of the battery box

Got the wires I don't need cut out. Just a big bowl of spaghetti.

Built some brackets to mount my fuse box and ignitor.

I thought you had a Mustang tank on your bike and a 21" wheel. The VN800b front end looks great all blacked out. Any pics of the front end?

It is a completely different bike. The mustang tank was on my other bike with the springer.

Got my fuse box bracket mounted and started working on shortening the wiring.

Yeah I want to work on it all day everyday til I get it done. I can see it in my head but I really can't wait to see it done, plus I am ready to be done with wiring.

I must also mention that I'm not really in to the style of bikes you have/fix but I do have to give you credit for the time and effort you take to fix them your way. After all, its your bike and who gives a themed if I like it or not.

Made a lot of progress today. Got everything on my fuse box and ignitor but the ground system and my starter solenoid. I got to figure out where I am gonna mount my solenoid before I can shorten those wires up. So basically I just have my solenoid and brake light switch to finish and I will be done with the wiring. Then I will get my battery bracket made.

It must be this cold spell we got down here out of nowhere thats giving you the patience to mess with all that wiring. Man wiring s**ks.
See you're using shrink-tube too, that's good.

This was definitely the project I expected it to be. Today was my fourth day working on it and I still am not done, but I am having some fun doing it. I also haven't worked on it all day when I have worked on it. First time doing something is always slow.
