Merry Christmas Canadianguy and welcome to the forum :santa: It sounds like something in the clutch assembly has come loose or broken. Im not familier with the v-twins, although the clutch operation is similer.Im wondering how you replaced friction plates without using a service manual? The clutch and clutch cable require adjustments especially after plate maintainance. You need to purchase a manual so you can understand how to cunduct those procedures."habla espanol?"

He's closer than that. He's about 45 miles from me as the crow flies. The foothills of the Ozarks start about 140 miles west of me.
The reason I asked was possibly a few of us rondevuing down there in the spring. What do think? "White Bass Beer and Bikes Rally"? :sgrin:

I'm all for the rally but I'll probably be drinking something with a little more kick than beer, once the days riding is done. What area were you looking at?
sure i'm in, where r we riding too? EH!

i tore my bike apart yesterday and took a quick look, seen nothing in the movement so i'm going to remove the clutch either to today or tomorrow, i had a date with the casino, but seriously i think it's got something to do with the release in the back near the springs, so i guess ill find out no biggy, it only took 20 min's to remove down to the where the case is off proablly 15 min's on removing the nut (without an air rachet) well see EH!

Bull Shoals,Norfork lakes headwater areas.Havent nailed down an exact location yet, but the white bass runs start in late Feb on into April. When the spawn subsides they leave the head waters and school up in the lakes and bust the shad in an all out frenzy! The fishings fast and furious!State line area between Mountain Home,AR. and Gainesville,Sycamore,MO. areas. Theres lots of fully equipped resorts, and camp grounds all over the area.Open to suggestions and ideas.I know one thing for sure, campfires and corn must be part of the festivities!

I thought you were 500 miles from the Ozarks? :toetap:
I do not know what happened with that. I remember checking on mapquest but now that I check it again it is about half that and almost 5 hours. But I never use time to measure distance so I am not sure what happened there. I dug up the PM and it was Sycamore Mo which shows 252.67 from my town.

OK, that's only 160 mi from me but if it's gonna be camping, fishing and riding I'd probably trailer the bike and camping gear and come in my truck. Too much camping gear to haul on the bike. After all, we'd have to be able to cook those fish. ;) I haven't been up to the Bull Shoals area camping since I was just a kid.

dam i taken the case off and the nut was lose, so i tightened the nut and started to put it back together and dam dam i decided to open it back up and make sure i tightened it up really good so the old penny on the gear routine to stop the gears from turning and i took the time to put a cloth in the oil port hole and of course what happens the the penny fell down, missed the cloth and the penny found the only spot to drop into the pan, from a 15 minute job to 2 hours and retrieving tool (after going to o'relly's and $11 later) i got it out after draining all the oil and staring into the dam hole for every, looking for that dam penny, i found it and got it out, well the penny is getting drilled out to put a hole in it and put onto my dashbroad the leather part where i had hung a cross that fell off somewhere and i never knew what to put back there that penny was worth more than 1 cent earlier this morning, so good news--- went out and it runs great pulling every gear with no slipping, cool buy the way i guess u guys notice i cant spell worth ____!:-D EH! dam canadian out!

Cool! I had the same ideas on trailering the bike and gear. Ill begin looking into areas with camping, boat ramp proximity, shower facilities etc.Ill let you know whats up.Paul?:lol:Its not optional,You have two months to get "Baby Doll" rolling and help staff the first annual "Ozark Bikes,Bass,Beer and Bar-B-Que Rally". Ill make an official post on the politically correct forum section. Three Mikes and a Paul so far....."cant wait for the campfire stories"

I'd also say keep in mind that because of the water, huge amounts of shaded area(forest), and altitude, the temps in that area are cooler than the general temps at every time of year. Especially at night. So planning for a late spring time frame would probably be wise.
