i just put a new timing chain and sprocket in my bayou 220 finally got it running and idleing when i tried to ride it I had it in first gear and went to switch to second and it shut of and lost all compression in engine any help on why this happened and maybe how to fix it would be greatly appreciated thanks.

What I would suspicion is that you failed to properly set the tension on the timing chain and it either jumped or broke.

Take a look at the camshaft parts diagrams on Kawasaki.com, found under the Owner Info tab. You will find two chain guides identified, and the adjustable cam chain tensioner. If the guides are worn with grooves you will trash the new timing chain, and if the tensioner is not properly set the chain will either be too tight and snap when it gets hot, or be too loose and jump timing.
