The new bike has a funny noise with the engine at idle speed. It's a 2004 concours and still has warranty till May. I'm getting a sort of "clack" noise from the motor. It doesn't matter if the bike is cold or warmed up. Seems to go away at 2000 rpm. Any ideas? Just had an oil change done 200 miles ago, made the noise before that as well. using 10w-40 oil.

may be a valve that has loosened up on ya or some of the emissions crap (reeds) on top of the head. i know they have complained about the ZRX reeds making noise.
may want to check/ask over here since these guys do know the concours also www.zrxoa.com
good luck

concours balancer shaft adjustment

clacking noise could be due to balance shaft needing adjustment. procedure is in the service manual and can make a big diff in the vibration.

It most likely is the cam chain adjuster. Just before it catches and keeps the chain nice and tight it will sound like the hammers of doom inside the engine.
