Sorry for reviving an old thread but I just did this mod and would like to thank Constrictor for the tutorial and Xlr8n for his suggestion of using the cross bar on the swing-arm. That's where I put mine by just using a couple 1-1/2" U-clamps that was 1/4"x20 thread. I just tightened the top nut enough to have space left over to put the rectifier on the ends of the u-clamps (this meant that I also had to cut off the bottoms of the U-clamps just after the nuts). Sorry I had pictures but I can't seem to upload them.

Doesn't anyone relocate the thing out of the dirt & salt, etc ?
Behind the front tire where all the crap goes seems like a bad location.
Yes,many (most) bikes do it.
