Coolant Gauge Flashing Before Starting Engine- Brute Force 300

HI all, I just bought a 2016 Brute Force and noticed that the coolant gauge flashes when you turn the key on even before starting a completely cold engine. Does this indicate an issue with the temp sensor? Where is that located?
