Cutting out/ Fi Warning lights when at traffic lights (video)

Having a bit of a nervous time with my bike. When I start her up she runs for about 20 seconds then cuts out. On the second start up she is usually fine.
However, then after about 5 minutes - 10 mins of riding, when I come to a stop, she is regularly cutting out again.
but she starts up fine.
I have captured this all on video.
The first part is where she is cutting out completely,
the middle part of the video you see the Fi Warning light coming on regularly when I slow down. I can hear a 'Fud' sound from the exhuast just before the light comes on, (compared to the normal pop).
Any ideas what the issue is, or just help in what things I should be mentioning to the mechanics at the garage when I get her seen to.
She is a 2002 VN 1500 drifter,
And I have been putting in 99ron fuel to help her as much as possible.

Thanks

First, if the bike doesn't NEED higher octane, stop using it. It's not helping anything. Next thing I'd do is some fuel system cleaner. Here in the former colonies we have several good ones to choose from. Yamaha Ring Free is one, Berryman's B-12 Chemtool is too.

Checked/cleaned/replaced your air filter lately? Spark plugs? Doesn't take much to look at these.

This may sound weird, but check the side-stand spring for stretch, it could be letting the side-stand flop and be tripping the switch, Also check the pivot point and bolt for wear.

its just the super unleaded at the shell petrol garage, it is either normal unleaded at 95ron, or 99ron its just premium unleaded with extra cleaning molecules, thought that would be a good idea.
will get fuel cleaner today see how that goes.

Air filter, spark plugs, no, but it is going in for an mot next month. so will get them to look at those as well.
Any chance you're having charging system problems? voltage drops too low the fi and/or ignition can drop out...

There were some 1500s iirc that had a wiring issue. A spot above the rear head in the harness got pinched and rubbed or something to the point they had a bad connection and intermittent issues. maybe prop the tank up, wiggle wires with it running, see if you can cause it. Seem to remember some saying they had to unwrap the harness in that area to find it.
I've seen bikes where the rear wheel hit the wiring. The people just ran them on top of the fender. ;)
