I can see its been a while since this post was used but am doing something similair with my vn800 at the moment and have a question about the cutting you made on the frame.

DarkTuesday, your bike looks great! I would love to cut the rear section as well off but i wanted to know if you think it has any major structural change to the frame? I know each country has different laws about this stuff (I live in Finland) and wouldnt want to make some cuts then find out the frame was weakened and no longer registered etc..

Would really love to hear your thoughts on this..

Since i welded caps back on the part i cut i don't think it would make it any weaker.

I know this is an old thread, but still! Kudos, great build and very good information for my own VN800 build (thermostat, fan, rectifier)

Hope she still gets a workout now and then ;)
