Hi everyone I'm new here looking for some help. I got a 95 vulcan 1500A given to me by a friend. It was not running I took it in for a tune up and carb rebuild so my first time on it in-between shifts and decel it gives off popping. I called the my mechanic and he said it is normal for kawasaki vulcan to do that. My question is is there anyway to stop it from happening for a cleaner sound?

Was it making that noise when your friend owned the Motorcycle ?
Popping on over run can be caused by a few different things.
Air Leak.
Over Fueling
Straight through Pipe with lack of back pressure.

Agree with above post. Is your exhaust stock?

I beleave its stock pipes. I can't ask him he has passed sence I got it I do know he drop it on its side the last time he rode. So I will check for air leaks

When it's idling, take some starting fluid, stick one of those little red plastic tubes in the nozzle, to get a pin point spray. As it's idling, spray different parts of the intake, and see if the r.p.m. raises. That's a quick way to find an air leak.
