I was at the store and saw carbon fiber tank grips for 13$ and thought they were interesting the guy told me they were used to protect the tank and help grip the tank when leaning on it, it doesnt seem like many 250-500 owners have them, is this because the riding position isnt as aggressive? it seems like every r6, f4i, gsxr, ect has them...

I got he black tank cover(Vinyle) for my 03 zxr6 makes it a million times easier to grip the tank with my knees. Everyone complains about sore wrists on the new Zrx6r but that because their griping with their hands instead of their knees. DUH

Hm... hadn't thought of buying tank grips before... that would make sense though especially having to crouch at higher speeds it would at least give me something between the tank and my jacket.

And yes, you are correct the 250/500 seating positions are not very agressive, plus the tank is positioned lower and the seat higher in the contours of the bike. So you'd have to duck down a lot lower to get close to the tank. At least I know I have to...
