Your best bet would be to drain out what is in there, That way you will no it's got the right grade and amount of oil in.
Kawasaki specify:-
APi GL-5 which is equivalent to either SAE 80 or 90 (Hypoid Gear Oil)
English 200ml
US 6.8 fl oz
If your unsure i usually fill until you can see the oil level with the bottom of the hole where the filler plug is located.
MAKE SURE THE BIKE IS LEVEL IF YOU USE THIS METHOD... AS OVER FILLING WILL CREAT EXCESSIVE PRESSURE IN THE GEAR HOUSING AND COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF OIL THROUGH THE BREATHER CAP ON TOP..
The drain plug is the 12mm at the lower part of the rear gear housing.
The filler cap has the slot in it situated above the drain plug and to the rear of the Gear housing.
