picture this, cruising 50 mph, 4th gear, bump in road causes right hand to roll off throttle and roll back on again, hear clunk somewhere in drivetrain, maybe tranny or clutch area not sure, now I try it delibertly and same thing happens, I try it in different gears and same thing, this is the only issue I have with this bike,my riding buddies can hear it also, I can hear it while no great strain on on engine ( like not under heavy power) very annoying, is this normal?? and advise or suggestions?? '07 V2k LT. used, 10491 mi. :(

Pretty normal for the tractor transmission these beasts have.

Mine doesn't clunk, are you running the recommended oil weight? never mind, mine is a different bike.

Mine only clunks shifting into or out of 1st gear...

Maybe it's the dreaded front pulley stripped spline issue?

I believe the OP's noise may be just the play in the primary chain. A number have complained about it. Unfortunately the primary is non-adjustable?!?!?!?!? (kinda mind boggling, no?)

IMO that slack in the chain prolly helps the front pulley and shaft strip.

That slack AND the stripped spline really made the "slack" slap around at low speed and revs. So if the slack has gotten worse, check the front pulley.

Otherwise it's just the "normal noises in here"
