good Day Vatos

One of my first priorities with my 2002 Mean Streak is to install engine guards.

I had considered the Lindby, but apparently it requires some retooling that may, in my mind, weaken them to the point that they become cosmetic.

I have also considered the OEM engine guards. The problem there is that they only seem to protect the engine case but not a whole lot more.

I sorta hate to 'disfigure' the sport flow of the Mean Streak with big ol' mouse ears that other engine guards produce.

Any input will be appreciated.

I highly recommend Barron’s engine guard/crush protector like this one: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BA-7170-00
It is supposed to fit both the 1600 and 1500 Mean Streak. I was in an accident a few months back (a car pulled in front of me), the only thing that saved my bike and my legs was the Barron Engine Guard – this thing really works.

This engine guard is very easy to install and it goes with the bike.
