Does anyone know if there are any model differences in the Ninja 250 family? Just picked up an older Ninja 250 beater bike and will be on the road to restoration soon.

From '87 to current is the exact same. I think its the only bike in history to have a running this long without any modifications. (I don't think thats necessarily a good thing on a few parts)

Thanks - that makes parts acquisition a little easier to determine.

Yeah - there are a few disadvantages like Freakinout mentioned, but there are definitely advantages. For instance, we know for a fact that the engine and transmission are practically indestructable, provided you break them in properly and do the maintenence. We've never been disappointed with ours. :)

Define indestructable, because I'm having a REALLY hard time keeping the RPM's at kawasaki's break in guidelines!!
