Ok, I got my bike used and don't wanna spend the money if I don't have to... This is related to changing sprockets. I'm spinning about 5100rpm at 70mph in 6th gear. Is that the way Kawasaki wanted it? Or did the guy before me change it? Any thing to help would be... helpful

Thanks,
Sam

I think your RPMs are less than normaly. My bike is in KMPH, so 70mph is 112km/h, and at that speed your bike should be about 5500-5600 rpm with factory sprockets. I might be wrong, but I think I'm right.

I run closer to 6K at 70mph. I have a nearly stock setup. You probably have a tooth added to the front sprocket, or teeth removed from the rear sprocket.

what if you took a tooth out of your back and put one in your front so you dont have to mess with the chain?
You would produce higher gears, chain life would be longer (due to the larger front sprocket). Lower RPM on the highway, less getup and go.
