So, Ive noticed some performance issues with my 900 classic. After some recent mods, not engine related, I've found that I have an exhaust leak at the head. I thought that I would, based on the flange the aftermarket piped have (V&H), but everything seemed to work. After my last mod, I had to remove the front pipe, and now I can feel air coming from jug at that pipe.

Assuming that the flange is slightly too short to properly seal, will doubling up on gaskets fix the problem?

You probably just need to replace the front gasket. The gaskets are designed to crush to the appropriate depth when tight. More than likely, the 'new' crush is not sufficient to seal.

Try using a lock washer when bolting that puppy in there.
That will give you a little extra screw to work with.
Anytime you take those pipes off, new crush gaskets are in order.
