I have a 1984 zn 1100 . I noticed that the #1 exhaust pipe is much hotter and gets hotter much quicker than the other 3. anyone have any idea why this is?

#1 cylinder is running lean. Probably dirty carb or tear in the diaphram. Two options, take the carb apart for inspection and cleaning if it's really bad (hopefully not turning red), or dump a double dose of B-12 in the fuel and see if clears up after a few miles.

Thanks for the info. I just cleaned out the carbs, they are good. Do you think i need to adjust the pilot air mixture. I seated the screw then backed out 1 1/2 turns. Maybee I nees to back it off a little more. what do ya think?

Did you perform a carb sync? If not, you will just chase your tail with multiple driveability and idle problems that will drive you nuts.
