I'm trying to find out the preferred method of getting every last drop of gas into my 800's 4 gallon tank. I've been hitting reserve around 110 miles, and when I fill up, I rarely put more than 2.5 gallons in before it looks like it's going to overflow. The reserve is 0.08 gal. so I should be able to put about 3.2 gal. in just after I hit reserve. I sit the bike in the kickstand as I'm filling it. On my Nomad I remember the dealer saying that was the best way to really fill it up, since the highest point of the tank was at the highest spot. Now I'm wondering if that is really the case. Any advice??

re

i fill mine on the stand and have no problem-
have noticed though if you fill it too fast it'll fiill up to the top and then
burp! and the level will go back down some - i fill it slowly
if the gas foams up at all your filling it too fast-use about a 1/3
of trigger on the pump-works for me
