Can anyone tell me what the proper tool is to use to get the filler cap off the final gear oil housing on a 2003 Vulcan Classic 1500? It has a slot, but a screwdriver doesn't do the trick. Help!
They charge shipping and sales tax. So if you get it you may want to order a few other chrome trinkets as I did, to help amortize the shiping. You could get your dealer to order K56019-063. Of course they charge sales tax, and if they are like the bandits at my dealership they will charge a handling fee if they don't have in stock.
Some folks have made their own as reported on VROC. Personally, I would rather spend the few bucks and get the RIGHT tool.
I had the same problem with my 98 and I got in the ol tool box and found a old brake adjusting tool fits perfect and is strong enogh to take it out u can get it at parts store its for drumtype brakes
