The paint is on hold I keep changing my mind. Happens a lot seeing as I paint for a living.

So i have a new issue. I put my tank back on my bike i have the itch to ride so i was just going to through it together and go....well i got everything hooked up put some gas in and hit the button. It cranks but never tried to fire. it has been a while since i had it running off gas. while i was working on the tank i had finished soldering wires and always checked that it still cranked and what not. well now thats all it does. I am getting gas and as far as i can tell i should have spark. i am going to grab a meter tomorrow just wondering if i am not thinking of something obvious.

Make sure spark plug wires are set tight on the plug
Connectors to CDI, fuse box????

i lied pulled the plug hit the button and absolutely NO spark. i know i shortened those wires so i am HOPING that i just didnt get a good solder and it broke apart. if the wire isnt i have no idea what to do. sounds like a good fourth project. should go smooth with some beer.

i have by know shortened or modified all the wires on the bike. i kept almost all original conectors wherever possible. i have not had much time to look into it yet but if everything turns over and there are no unusuall sounds surly it is just getting power to my plugs right? i cannot for the life remember what i did for the sidestand switch. would that keep it from starting? that is the only one that has me puzzled

The side stand switch would not let the bike turn over at all. You should be getting twelve volts to the coils.

Sorry it has been so long turns out I wasn't getting spark because when you ditch the stock key switch you need to add a resistor to cut power to the ic box. So I did and the bike started . I was excited and relieved the it made a clinking maybe grinding and died. I am to afraid to start it again tonight. Any thoughts

Sorry to hear about your engine. Hopefully there isn't a ton of damage. What ohm resistor did you have to add to get the ignition to work?

No idea what's wrong I will worry about it later. And I had to but a 100 omh resistor on the grey wire coming off my toggle switch.
