Fork Oil

I looked through all of the topics and didn't see this mentioned. My manual for my KZ650 CSR says 15W fork oil. I'm getting ready to change the fork oil and thought that instead of Bel-Ray or some other premium brand, I may try purging all of the old oil out of the forks, and trying ATF. The Dexron III should be about 15W. Several Hondas I've had have specified ATF for the forks and I could put tranny sealer in for about 10% of the volume and never have a fork seal leak (unless they got scored). Any thoughts on using ATF on the KZ?

Friend of mine used ATF in the forks of his older Honda and had no troubles. I don't know why it wouldn't work for you.
