I had the brilliant idea of putting a ZX11D front end on my 1989 ZX10 Tomcat, thinking it would be a simple swap.
I bought a nice wheel and fork set off eBay complete with key switch and speedo drive only to discover the steering head bearings on the ZX10 are much smaller, as in early GPZ900/ZG1000 size.

What should I do? I also have brake calipers and would hate giving up on the swap.

Just measure the inside and outside diameters of the bearings you’ll need and buy taper roller bearings to suit from a bearing supplier.
The GPz750 has 47mm and 52mm o/d on the bearings which seem to be the norm for that era. The 89 zxr400 is an alloy frame and has 55mm lower bearing so the zx10 could be the same.

Assuming 47/52, you can get bearings with an I/d of up to 30mm.

All all’s have all the information on their website but they’re the bearings are a bit pricey.

Edit : you need a 30/47 and a 30/52 taper roller bearing. Both are available.
