I am interested in new forward controls for the Mean Streak, but everything I have seen claim to push the controls forward by 4+ inches. That's too far for my short legs. Anyone know of any that don't move them that far?

If 4" is too far for your legs, then the stock controls should be about right. Do they not fit right, or do you just want something different (not that I've ever done that...)?

More pullback?

I, too, am thinking about forward controls. The Mean Streak seating is more like a sportbike or standard than the laid back riding I'm used to.

But then you still have the problem of moving the bars/grips back to a comfortable position. Anything out there to do that?

OK for forward controls without a lot of forwardness (is that a word? hehehe) go check out http://www.cbcustoms.com they can make a set for you. If you just want a different look and not really into the forwards just change out the pegs themselves, or go to floorboards.
As far as moving the bars back..there is a guy out there named Chuckie that makes risers for the meanies. I'll try to find a link to his web address for you.

I am 5'6 and have the Mapam controls on my Meanstreak. Its a little stretch but I wouldn't call it uncomfortable by any means. I love the them

Ditto the Mapam F/C - I'm 5'10" with 30" inseam. I felt like I was settin up in a straight chair with stock pegs. With the Mapam (Restyling) F/C my leg stretch is perfect. They are advertised as a 4" stretch but they set a little higher and that offsets some of the stretch. I also run a ForceWinder air intake and my leg still misses the intake by at least 2". John

Looking for something different more than anything.
If you are just wanting to spiff up the peg area, get chrome peg mounts and change out your pegs and shifter/brake arms and covers

or floorboards

Still same location, but very much more shinier!!!

I like the stock location for spirited riding (I'm 6', 34" inseam), but do need somewhere to stretch my legs on longer trips, but I didn't want to put a crash bar on the bike cuz I think it ruins the Meanie's looks. So I made some brackets that bolt behind the controls that I welded some pipe to such that I then used peg risers vertically to mount some highway pegs. Imagine taking your feet off the stock pegs and moving them forward and down about 30*. I find that to be comfortable since when you put your feet down you 'unfold' yourself a little bit. The downside is they touchdown a fraction of an inch before the pegs do, and I did not hinge them. To be completely safe they should be hinged.
Also, the mustang seat puts you back maybe 1/2 to 1" from the stock seat, might be an option if you need just a bit more room.

Forward controls

I have a 2003 Mean Streak with Jardine forward controls. They are too far for me (I bought the bike like this) I would prefer to have the stock placement but I am being told that it will cost me $700 plus to move them back....Anyone want to trade? I have priced these controls at $600 or more...If anyone is taller and wants to move their controls forward, hit me up. [email protected]. I am in Arizona.

Is there anyone else out there that has the jardines looking to trade back to stock? lol
Laugh if you will but I am looking to sell off my Jardine Forward Controls. I am to short to ride with them, just bought the bike with them already installed but need to retrofit to stock. Would prefer to sell to someone who has stock controls and is willing to get rid of old set.

I am interested in the Jardine forward controls. I have the stock footpegs, I have also placed the Kuryakyn Flame footpegs with switchblades and kuryakyn brake pedal cover and shifter cover that cost me $500 AUD. What prices are you guys asking for the Jardines?
