Front Brake Noise

1295 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  AltaPowderDaze
I'm getting a constant hiss from my front brake when the bike is in motion from 0mph on up. it stops when I apply the brakes but returns as soon as I let up. It almost sounds like someone has a screwdriver held up agains the rotor. Anyone have an idea as to what this could be and how to fix?

Thanks,

get the front end off the ground and go over the whole front wheel-axle nut, disc are true, pads are tight
bla bla - if you don't see nothing take it in
I'm having the exact sound coming from mine. I'll get it checked the next time I am in but just wondering if it is anything I could fix.
I've had it checked at two different dealers and they all say there are no safety issues with the noise and not to worry about it. I've tried explaining to them that three out of four pads don't make the noise and they keep telling me that there is nothing that can be done. I feel that either my pad should be replaced or the rotor. The rotors are actully free floating so you can run with a warped rotor without a problem. I feel that I bought a new bike and it should be new condition. I'll let you know if I can get anything done through their 800#. Though the noise has gotten better my temporary solution is to put louder exhaust on. :D Maybe that'll make me feel better about it. Let me know what your dealer says about yours.
