I need to replace the front brake pads on my EL250, so I managed to get the pads out but when I went to put in the new ones, I noticed that the piston wasn't in the right position (I think my daughter has been playing with the brake lever!!), how do I get the piston to return to it's normal position??

If needed I can upload a picture!

since youre already there pull the caliper and clean it around the pistons (i use simple green/purple power and a tooth brush) then pry the pistons back with a screwdriver. slide new pads in and put back on bike.... make sure ya pump the brakes back up before you ride...
