My fuel gauge is particularly strange. It usually stays at the full mark until i've gone about 70-80 miles, and then it rapidly descends to the red empty zone. i usually fill up after 160 miles or so, but i think the bike can go a 20-30miles further then that-but that gauge man, confuses me, worries me a bit...i think its slightly misleading. anyone else experience this oddity??

Fuel gauges on motorcyles are notoriously inaccurate and jittery. Yours sounds like par for the course. My Ninja 250, like most motorcycles, doesn't even have a fuel gauge. I just flip to reserve when the engine starts to sputter, then fill up the next time I'm near my favorite station.

I do wish someone would make a good fuel gauge for a motorcycle, preferably combined with a computer to give current and trip MPG and range left. So who wants to step up and do it?
