Is it just mine or does the fuel pump run constantly making an annoying whining sound I can hear everytime I stop?

Only time I hear the fuel pump is when I turn on the key, and then only for a few moments.
Could the sound be from your fan maybe not cutting off?

+1 I hear fuel pump only when first turning on key to start my bike...

This sounds like the fan to me. Because mine starts and stops periodically depending on how hot it is. Even with a full face helmet on, I can hear the fan start and stop.

nope, its the fuel pump. When I turn the key on it kicks in and builds up pressure and then shuts off. As soon as I start the bike it kicks on and so far I havent heard it turn off.

I have an 07 classic and i can hear the sound whenever i'm stopped and idling.
as far as i knew it is supposed to do that....looking to get rid of my sound with a little baffle removal.

I have noticed the same thing. I asked the same question of this forum awhile back and was told it is normal. I haven't had any issues with reliability or performance that I have noticed. It is annoying though.......

I only hear the fuel pump when I turn on the key. After I start the bike I don't hear it at all. (unmodified stock pipes)

I hear lots of things on my bike but not the fuel pump while the engine in running.
But then, my hearing isn't near as good as it used to be, so that could be the difference.
