Bought a 73 g5 today. Previous owner said it stalled & then had no compression . He thought it had a stuck valve lol. Brought it home & pulled the head. Looks like it got hot. 1st question a mechanic friend said the engine is ruined because all the debris will be in lower end bearings. I'm not so sure about that. What you all say? 2nd question. How do I go about checking the oil injection pump? Thanks

Yeah. Stuck valve on a two-stroke. Hmmmm. Unless he meant the rotary valve. In any case it looks like it seized and that is the likely cause of no compression. If this bike has oil injection, dump and purge the oil tank and all oil lines and with the proper injector oil make sure the oil flows and the pump is set up properly. You will need new rings and maybe you can get away with cleaning up the bore with some honing. It is hard to tell from the photo how deep the scratches are.
