Well, I got my bike today, Extremely happy, :D put 100 miles on it tonight, I really like it, first few observations: :?:
plenty of power,
some minor rattling, squeaking coming from up front, maybe new brake pads?? maybe it will go away
1 or 2 small backfire from exhaust on occasion
Seat feels good,
shifting is easy
brakes work well
LOTS of heat coming off engine,
weekend is close, will install my accessories and burn some gas
more info later
did I mention I really like it?

great choice you made on the bike. what color scheme did you get black on red or green on white? I have put 4500 miles on mine since mid april and have loved each and every one!

Congrats on the new ride! Great choice, great bike, great color scheme.

When you get a minute, check all the nuts (using torque wrench if you have one) to make sure nothing is loose and causing noise. Some dealers are better than others at bike prep.

Make sure you run 90+ octane gas, required according to your manual.

Heat is normal, particularly on the right side near exhaust and catalytic converter.

After a few tanks of gas, you'll be amazed how comfortable you'll get with it. Corners will become really natural feeling, and you'll be really pleased with how far you can lean on that big thing.

Enjoy!

add-ons....

I have a rear rack , chrome license plate assembly
chrome tank insert, on order, I already have the V & H
straight shots with viper Tips and the V & H jet kit.

In a month or so I am gonna install them and let the dealer do the carb work, The mechanic said he has done a bunch of 1500's and know exactly what to do.

thats about all I plan for now, money is fading quickly
would like to get a set of passenger boards but the Genuine Kawasaki
stuff is kinda pricey, need to look at aftermarket as well.

loving it , just hope the fuel mileage gets better

fuel mileage will pick up the more you break it in.
