i have an 86 kxt 250 3 wheeler , it starts and idles but when you give it gas
it revs on off on off on off like a rev limiter at very low rpm. it did the same
thing before i had the rotor off and replaced because of magnets broken loose. igniter box maybe ????

Could be the Igniter, But that's usually the last thing to replace due to the cost after eliminating as best everything else in the equation


~ How long has she been doing this ?
~ Has she stood for any length of time without running ?
~ Was there any damage to the Exciter coil when the Mag's broke loose ?
~ Fresh Gas works wonders if she's stood for a while. (Drain the carb first)
~ Air cleaner ok ? Not clogged or breaking up ?
~ All earths good and clean ?

no visibly damage to to stator or exiter (same place rite?) new gas, hasnt sat
to long , carb is good. bought used igniter going out there this week end .
the exiter is with the stator correct? it still ran (at idle) with magnets broke
loose thought that was the prob, repaired magnet prob and still wouldnt rev checked grounds and will recheck, air cleaner good
