I have 07 900 custom. Sorry no pics yet, still completely stock. I want to replace the original grips. I don't like the feel of the rubber stock. I would like some suggestions on what to get. I found a set I like but am worried about them killing my hands from vibration. If you guys have any opions I would really appreciate them. I think I am learning alot from this forum and really value the input here.

IMO.Handsdown the best grips to get are the Kuryakyn ISO grips. The original are better for vibration than the flamed ones.Last grips you will ever buy if you ride a lot.

I went with the Kuryakyn ISO Flame grips and blue accent rings to match the blue bike. I capped off the ends of the grips with a Kewl Lock on each side. Now I have a easy access place to lock two helmets and they don't bang against the bike. I'll snap a picture if you want.

Kuryakyn ISOs
are so nice-o.
really nice grips,
at a pretty good price so
get a set today
and put em on without delay
but before you squeeze the glue,
be sure to cover up the bike - Doh!

PS- get the Kawi-specific grip w/ the throttle slide, not the universal install.
and the throttle boss is kinda cool too, but not essential.

ISO, ISO, ISO... Well, the Kuryakyn grips are really great. I put the helmet lock on the ends on my Suk and thought it looked really good. HOWEVER..... I put the SAC grips on my V2K and love them even better then the ISO. At least take a look. These are very comforable. Very, Very comfortable.

My only experiance is with the V2K but I think the 900 is the same.
The left grip went in the same as the ISO. Just remove the OEM, clean the bar, apply glue inside the new grip and slid it on making sure to turn the seam were you want it.
The right, throttle grip was a little more work then the ISO. The ISO came with the plastic part of the grip that the cables connect to. With the SAC, you unscrew(lefthand thread) the endcap from the OEM grip and cut the grip and that threaded part off, then shave down the ribs in the plastic part. Then put glue inside your new grip and slide in on paying attention to the seam in the leather(if you get leather)
The reason some people think they are short is because they didn't cut off the threaded part that the OEM end cap screws to. It may seem complicated and it IS more involved then the ISO but it's a 30min job if you take your time paying attention to what yor doing.
If you deside to try them, I will be happy to talk you through it.

I just bought the ISO grips from oneidasuzuki.com for about $46 + shipping. I think the model number is 6235 for the Vulcan 900. I haven't had the chance to put them on yet but they feel awesome.

they are awesome , you wont go wrong with these grips . besides, the palm throttle is a nice feature too

this is one reason im leaning towards the iso grips. i could always get the cheapie ones if go the other route, but i think that it would make the sac grips look cheap. i like the fact the "throttle boss" for the iso grips go together as one cohesive unit.

I've got the ostrich grips and the Corbin DualTour with Ostrich around the sides. Looks pretty good. I'd take some pics but I sent my camera off to Canon for cleaning and calibration. I do have somepics online of the grips....I think.

I've been wanting to do the grips on my 900 Custom as well, but I'm a little concerned that the ISOs would be larger in diameter than the stock grips. I have small-ish hands and I want to make sure I can keep a good grip on the bars. Does anyone know how much bigger they are?
