I have a 1980 KE100, the spark plug wire is pretty well shot. I ordered an aftermarket coil (that's all that is available) but it has 2 leads, mine only has 1. The new one has a black wire AND a green wire going into terminals on the back of the coil. Which one/ones do I use? Can I just ignore the Green one? Or does it need to go to ground? Please help! And thanks.

Well since we do not know what aftermarket coil you have maybe you can contact the company who makes it and ask them.

I did look on ebay and found a 2 wire coil with both a green and black wire. The green wire has a ring terminal on that one so I would say it is the ground. The black wire has a bullet type terminal. It sounds like the KE grounded vie the coil body so they did not use a ground wire.

Here is the one I found so if yours is like that I would say the green is the ground.
