a guy i know from work has a holeshot device for my model and year of bike wants £10 for it, it looks brand new so not wanting to look like a idiot (because im alwayz on about bikes) i kidded on i knew what it was!! so can anyone help what are they and will it make any differance to my bike or will it be a waste of money????

If you are racing it will help on your starts, but for general riding its a waste. What it does is lock the forks down on the start, which helps keep the bike from wheelying. When you hit a bump, the device disconnects and the forks work like normal. I have a works connection holeshot device on my KX, because Ive always had a problem with the front end going up on the start. It helps a little bit.

be as well just to get it seeing as its only a £10 (about $18 ) and he hardly ever uses his bike u couldnt even tell its been used

Dont bother its a good price but you dont need one .
Not going to do a thing for ya.
If you can't launch it without one, putting one on wont make and difference to you.

Do you race? if not don't waste your money. By the way, they really don't work on concrete starting pads either, on dirt they do make a difference, if you watch the AMA supercrosses, all the riders use them.
