I"ve searched all over looking for an assembled image and some kind of write-up and all I find are either exploded diagrams or ebay parts. A clear pic of the shock and linkage connected to the frame and swingarm of anything from a ZX900 to ZX14 will probably do.

I took some bad advice from the COG forum (that doesn't send me the registration activation email) about lowering the ZG1000 with a ZZR1100 shock. Well the shock arrived and it's the same length! The rocker linkage is different. Blew $45. My income has dropped 30% since the COVID economy and don't have the funds for Soupy's $200 linkage. Oh well, will just live with it. At least the ZZR shock has a sportier spring. Did discover the ZG1200 front springs fit and stiffen the front so now I don't have to air up either the front or back.

Well that sucks. But maybe best in the long run. Lowering a bike is always a compromise as it alters steering geometry and requires shortening the side stand.

But my side stand needs lengthening

The frame tab has bent over the years, the ZG1000 is a top heavy bike, especially when fully gassed up. Huge fuel tank.

That explains it. Can you straighten the tab? Might need a bit of reinforcement.
