This is a quick story about my past two years getting back into the bike world. I came up with the idea of building an electric motorcycle, so I did! I found a yard full of old Goldwing parts and traded an old golf cart for them. I started with a rolling frame and added battery boxes, controller, motor, homemade drive shaft ect. and I was off. 40 mph top speed on the flats but the batteries couldn't take the 220 amps of draw for the continual start stop. So then I took apart the four scrap engines that came with the pile and built one running 1000cc that I put in the bike (after removing all of the electrics and battery boxes) and made a naked wing bobber (same bike). Then after a week or two of play time I spotted an 83 wing not running and was off again, bought it for parts price and bought it home. I did the carbs and, and , and here she is. Thought that I could make a dollar of her so I put it on Craigs and got called the next day by a guy 200 miles away with a 99 kz1000 police for trade straight up. I took the deal and he showed up the next day, it had a bad oil leak and a few problems but thought that 83 to 99 was a good trade. Oil leak was the seal for the clutch shaft had slipped out of the case. Still a few wrenches to turn but here she is.

Same to you on the New Year! I hope that you liked my start up with the electric Wing, That thing was stealth! I hope that the day comes that batteries and capacitors reach a price that we can afford to build a 150 mph plug and play, still won't beat the smell and sound of the real thing but gives us new places to play. I still have the bobber naked wing, sat for awhile so I need to go over the carbs.
