on a stock 900 custom???
Basically for my B-Day the wife has authorized me to spend $1,500 on what ever I wanted for the bike, help me spend it by posting what you guys would buy. I dont get chances to spend like this very often so I dont want to buy something then see something a few days later that I would have rather wanted.

Thx

sissy bar w/or w/o luggage rack
risers (if needed)
windshield
lowers
crash bar
sissy bar bag and/or saddlebags (& frames if needed)
new seat or modify your existing seat
some type of cruise control ($9-$300)
grips
pegs on crash bar

Shop around and you can get pretty close to getting all the above-maybe

Aftermarket Pipes, Air Intake, Fuel Management, Lower, replace stock seat. Grips, pegs, mirrors
I wold get the expensive stuff out of the way first cause you don't get a chance to buy like that very often so if you have something in mind that caosts alot then get it now while you can.

"Your wife authorized you to spend some of your money? Sorry, but that just sounds funny to me. Anyway, enjoy your spending spree."

Sorry, I have to kinda agree with that.

But consider Mustang seats if long rides aren't comfortable. And risers can be helpful too, but that depends on how you feel on your bike.

I would do the comfort(if you plan on doing a lot of miles) and saftey mods 1st. Better to be comfy than fast and loud. I would would try to work a deal to get 2 grand out of her and get the whole package, pipes, airkit, controller, shield and pipes.

Do you want flat out speed and performance or comfort and touring?

I fall in the latter. The bike is plenty fast enough as is for most normal usage so I'd go with:

Kuryakyn Iso-Grips
Engine Guard / Crash Bar
Highway Pegs (Kuryakyn any type, I have the Dually's)
Passing (Driving) Lights and Lightbar
Nice Comfy Seat (Mustang, Corbin or Saddleman)
Windshield (extends the driving season by 10 - 15 degrees) and (keeps the bugs out of my face. I've been hit by enough that I'm not happy when it happens anymore)
Backrest (might come with the seat if you order theright model)
GOOD saddlebags don't get small, crappy ones. Get the biggest, nicest you can afford.

That ought to be close to $1500

Thx for all the replys so far!!

right now I think I am leaning towards some Cobra Dragsters, lowering kit, new seat and a sissy bar for when the wife rides. I'm not too big on windshields and I think the performance aspect is good enough for me know.

Anyone else have any idea's please post them!!

Hello.

I had cobra drags put on, lowered my 07 custom 900, Put Free Spirit Air Cleaner Cover on, put on Regulator Cover on, And a Mesh Radiator Grille, Have a Pair of Kuryakyn Ellipse Mirrors coming Monday, also and Tags bolts USA,I left the performance alone for now. the cost of this was $902.70 this is parts alone, you would still have $597.30 to use and take your wife out on a nice date, or just save the money for other mods down the road.
