A funny story from my wife...
===================================

In the fun world of the administration of justice, not all the laughs are in the court-room. Indeed, giggles and guffaws can erupt at almost any time or place.

For example: On a bitterly cold winter's day several years ago in northern British Columbia, an RCMP constable on patrol came across a motorcyclist, who was swathed in protective clothing and helmet, stalled by the roadside.

"What's the matter?" asked the policeman.

"Carburetor's frozen," was the terse reply.

"Pee on it.That'll thaw it out."

“Can't."

"OK, Watch me and I will show you."

The constable lubricated the carburetor, as promised. The bike started and the rider drove off, waving.

A few days later, the detachment office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorbike rider.

It began: "On behalf of my daughter, who recently was stranded ...."

Frozen motorcycles, Canada, RCMP...

Coast to Coast Canada in winter??

"It was a good call. because 5 minutes later it was pucker time again...
As I approached Woodstock a RCMP 4X4 turned around, caught up to me and and pulled me over.... He asked me where the hell I was going in this ****.. By the time he pulls me over it is really bad and i have already decided i am pulling over at the Best Western up the hill.
He says he will get my bike towed.. I say "No you won't!" I am legal and ther is nothing you can do about it!" He says it is too dangerous to let me go.. " I say " you are right but i am still legally allowed to be here. So check whatever you have to check but you are not towing me anywhere!!!!
he takes my papers and while I am waiting for him i am checking my bike over... and then!!!!! (I WILL COME BACK TO THAT LATER) about 5 minutes later he gives me my papers and says "****! We learn something everyday! You are legal! I said " I knew that officer because i have planned this trip for a year now and contacted the RCMP last year and was confirmed as well by Canada DOT and Transport Canada that I can!"

But I am not stupid and i am stopping right now.. I want to finish that trip but not at the cost of my life!"

He says "Hold on and i will tak you there! he puts his lights on and goes ahead of me to the best Western and after shaking my hand and wishing me luck, dispapears in the snow.. COOL!!!!!!"

I sign in at the best Motel and this is what is brewing..

That's just awesome that he helped you out like that instead of just snubbing you after he found out he was wrong. Takes true humility to do that, I salute the officer that escorted you.

Oh, and I can't say I'm as brave as you! Looks like it was an awesome trip though.

LOL, not me. I just remembered that thread from ADVRider and his story about running into the RCMP. Paul Mondor from Victoria was the guy who rode from Victoria to Newfoundland in January.
